The Wilson Botanic Park underwent a revitalisation during the COVID-19 pandemic with a focus on prioritizing both the environment and people. The goal was to support the community's increased dependence on open spaces by implementing various features such as rare species planting, bird-attracting areas, a pop-up café, new signage, upgraded amenities, improved paths, a smart bin, a park-and-ride service, and stormwater harvesting.

One of the most exciting new features of the revitalisation was the visionary and immersive sunken walkway that leads visitors into the beautiful Lilypad Lake. This addition offers a unique and unforgettable experience for visitors to the park.
